January in Liverpool
Happy January everyone!
To get the year off to a great start there is plenty going on in Liverpool and at LILA* this month. No matter what your interests are, there is something on offer for everyone in this great city!
Here’s what we recommend for January;
LILA*’s weekly walking tours
Whilst studying at LILA* there is an exciting social programme that you can take part in every week. Get out into the fresh air and discover the city whilst learning about Liverpool’s culture and history. This is a great way to get to know your way around the city as well as learning more about the Liverpool heritage. The walking tours are led by the famous Tony, ‘Mr Rapido’, and are free to join.
Museum of Liverpool
If the typical British weather is too cold for a walk around the city centre, visit one of Liverpool’s many museums or art galleries. The museum of Liverpool is free entry and has many collections displaying Liverpool culture and history. The museum also has free screenings of the football show and the Beatles show every day and activities such as craft afternoons. You can easily spend hours in this museum and it is perfect if you are a big sports or music fan.
Keep It Local campaign
Liverpool is full of independent cafes, restaurants and shops and we always enjoy discovering somewhere new to visit in the city. In support of these local and independent businesses is the Keep It Local campaign. If you spend £5 or more in any local business or charity you will receive 50% off your food bill in Lucha Libre on Wood Street, Miyagi on Bold Street or Pod on Allerton Road, when you take along your receipt!
LILA* students can take their invoices & will receive the same discount at the restaurants listed above.
