Sources of support

At LILA*, supporting our students mentally, physically and academically is our priority. We recognise the importance of ensuring our students feel safe and supported throughout their journey with us.

On this page, you will find sources of support that may be useful to you as you navigate this new chapter in your life.

Finance

It can be daunting trying to navigate budgeting and spending as a student. We recognise that everybody’s situation is different but despite this, we want all of our students to arrive feeling confident about managing their money.

Wellbeing

We believe that it is important to look after yourself in order to perform to the best of your ability. We place great emphasis on positive mental well-being, and we encourage all of our students to practice well-being and self-care rituals.

There are small steps we can take in our everyday routines in order to look after our wellbeing, such as getting a good sleeping routine, making time for physical activity, going for a coffee with a friend, tidying your space or cooking some delicious food.

LILA* also has a dedicated team of listening adults and safeguarding staff who will make themselves known to students in the event they need help or support.

Welfare

The welfare of our students is extremely important to us.

We recognise that every student needs to feel safe, happy and comfortable in order to love to learn. We offer various levels of support for all of our students because we understand that each welfare need is different depending on age.

If you are a parent and you are concerned about the welfare of your child, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us. Our Juniors have access to a dedicated safeguarding telephone number 24 hours a day if they feel unsafe, worried or need help.

We also provide one-to-one appointments with our welfare officers for private matters.

Religion and faith

At LILA*, we pride ourselves on the diversity of our students, and that is why we make it our mission to foster a learning environment that is respectful of all beliefs and values.

Our students travel from all corners of the globe to study with us, and therefore it is our duty to ensure our students of all religions and faiths feel seen and welcomed by both their peers and our staff.

LILA* has a quiet, multi-faith prayer room available for use to students of any faith, and our student services team will assist in providing appropriate places of worship, community groups, and social venues for our students.

If you have any concerns that you wish to speak to our team about before your arrival at LILA*, or if you feel you need support about any of these issues, please get in touch.
