Occupational English Test (OET) Centre
LILA* College is an authorised Occupational English Test (OET) Centre. The Occupational English Test (OET) is a test designed for healthcare professionals who are looking to work in English speaking countries and require proof of their professional English language skills. It does not test medical knowledge, just your ability to listen, read, write, and speak in a healthcare setting. OET is trusted by regulators, hospitals & universities in the UK, the US, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Dubai and Singapore as proof of ability to communicate effectively.
Who should take the OET?
The OET has been designed for 12 healthcare professions, including Dentistry, Dietetics, Medicine, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Optometry, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Podiatry, Radiography, Speech Pathology, and Veterinary Science. You can find out more about the specific healthcare boards, councils and universities that accept the OET here.
What does the OET exam involve?
The test is split into 4 parts; reading, writing, listening and speaking. The subtests for speaking and writing are specific to your profession. To pass the OET you will need a minimum grade of B, or score at least 350 points in all 4 sub-sections. You should receive your grade 16 working days after the exam.
